Farming is the primary system for growing food ingredients to be used in the Chef crafting class, and fibers for the Maker. Farming starts with trapping a creature or looting a seed. These items are then to be placed in a Farming Structure such as a barn for livestock, a coop for poultry, a garden for seeds, or an orchard for saplings.

Production

Coops and barns, slaughtering

Coops produce eggs when filled with poultry while Barns produce raw milk when filled with livestock. In order to get raw meat, raw poultry and leather, players have an option to slaughter their animals. Animal will drop a carcass of up to several units of Raw Meat or Raw Poultry and some leather of corresponding tier. This can be accomplished by opening the corresponding Farming Structure's interface, selecting the animal, and hitting the "slaughter" button. Remember to empty the structure's inventory, or make sure that there is plenty of room there for slaughtering an animal. Slaughtered animals will drop certain amount of leather and their carcasses which will result in several units of resources dropped by each animal. Therefore, if the Farming Structure's inventory is completely or partially full before that action happens, a part or all of the dropped resources will be lost due to the fact that a Farming Structure's inventory is limited to 10 units only. You will not get any warning that your loot is going to be lost, you should know better!

Gardens and orchards, harvesting

Orchards and gardens produce vegetables, fruits, tubers, fibers and cereals. Players place seeds in gardens and saplings inorchards, and over time, the Farming Structure's inventory will start filling with raw materials. Time required to produce one unit if raw material differs for seeds and saplings, as well as their lifespan (see tables below). Players have an option to harvest their crops by uprooting them. Harvested plant will drop one unit of the corresponding raw material normally produced by the plant. This can be accomplished by opening the corresponding Farming Structure's interface, selecting the plant, and hitting the "harvest" button. Remember to empty the structure's inventory, or make sure that there is plenty of room there for harvesting a plant. Harvested plant will drop one unit of raw material. Therefore, if the Farming Structure's inventory is completely full before that action happens, the dropped resource will be lost due to the fact that a Farming Structure's inventory is limited to 10 units only. You will not get any warning that your loot is going to be lost, you should know better!

Processing

All raw materials must be processed before they can be used for crafting. All ten processors can be bought in one shop in Askagard, from Verkosh at the very top level of the town, near the empty farming plots and cemetery. The price is 1000 triads each. To use a processor, place it inside your BOO house (indoors) and drag-and-drop or double-click to move the raw materials from your stash into the processor' interface slot. Over time, those raw materials will be processed into processed materials and available for collection.

These Processed Materials can then be cooked into foods for players to buy and consume, woven into cloth for sewing cloth armor or for forging swords, shields and bows.

The chain of production

As you can see, the whole process that started from looting a single seed takes several crafts to extract the full load of crafting experience, yielding chef, maker, weaponsmith and armorer XP. Therefore it is of utter importance to get as many alts and farming plots as possible by upgrading your own and your alts BOO, and to use every seed you procure in your/your alts own farm, rather than selling it to others or even junking. You can have up to 50 characters on your account, therefore no seed should be be lost! Additional character slots can be purchased at the the medallion shop.

Full scheme of production

Farmingchain

The following scheme precisely describes the full chain or farming production, all inclusive. Follow the arrows to understand it:

Farming setup

Many new players neglect farming while they should develop it exponentially. Each producer, if taken care of regularly, is capable of producing 6 units of the corresponding raw material per hour (except for saplings, which produce only 3 but live much longer), and each farming structure can be filled with two producers. E.g. having at least 4 alts, which is the default for a starter account, and the BOO of level 8 on each of the alts allowing for 4 farming structures, it is possible to collect up to 192 units of raw materials per hour, up to 4608 units per day, totaling up to 138240 per month. If processed, all those raw materials will give up to 276480 farming XP (for collection and processing) distributed between all alts on your account, and if you sell the derived processed materials to players or NPC vendors (4 triads ea), you will earn up to 552960 triads per month. Tremendous! The most convenient way of doing this is to farm pokkas for eggs since they can be most easily trapped, with Primitive Trap and Pokka Bait available at Tybalta's store for only 10 triads each.

Farmhand

Your friends can help keeping your farming structures clean and tidy by sweeping them regularly. This will give both you and your friend 10 farming XP per farming structure clicked on, but the structure has to be filled with producers for this to happen. For the work, you and your friend will get the farming XP, but they won't harvest or collect any raw materials for them or you. This action has a cooldown of 6 hours and is accrued for each farming structure individually.

To use farmhand, just add your friends to your BOO Invite list in the social tab. To access their BOO, you too have to be added to their BOO Invite list. Simply adding a person to the friend list will not grant BOO access. To access your friends BOO, first go to your BOO and from there open the social tab and click on your friend's name in your BOO Access list. You need to be inside your BOO to access other player's BOO.

Note: Your friends don't have to be online to receive the XP upon work completion, they will get it even if they are offline. After they log in and open the farming structure's interface, they will get a pop-up stating you helped them.
