XP or "Experience Points" are used by many different systems in Stash to "level up" or increase potency in some manner.
Combat XP
The most obvious use of XP is combat xp earned from killing monsters. This is the type of XP that is needed to gain levels which in turn gives you more health, mana, and new abilities.
Base XP Values for Monsters
The base XP value of a monster is based on its comparative level or "Con" for short. Con is the comparison of the level of the encounter to the player or party level (party level is simply the highest level member of the party).
Color | Level Difference | Base XP Value |
---|---|---|
Grey | 5 or more levels below | 0 |
Olive Green | 4 levels below | 20 |
Green | 3 levels below | 40 |
Blue-green | 2 levels below | 60 |
Blue | 1 level below | 80 |
White | same level | 100 |
Yellow | 1 level above | 125 |
Orange | 2 levels above | 150 |
Red | 3 levels above | 175 |
Dark Red | 4 levels above | 200 |
Purple | 5 levels above | 225 |
Deep Purple | 6 or more levels above | 250 |
Bonus XP Values for Higher Rank Monsters
Most monsters are "normal" rank, but there is a chance you may encounter higher rank monsters. The larger your party the more higher rank monsters you will encounter.
Mob Rank | XP Modifier |
---|---|
Normal | 1.0 xp modifier |
Lieutenant | 2.0 xp modifier |
Elite | 4.0 xp modifier |
Champion | 6.0 xp modifier |
Boss | 10.0 xp modifier |
Party XP Split and Bonuses
Combat XP in parties is divided evenly among the party members. But first a bonus is applied to the total XP award:
Party Size | XP Bonus |
---|---|
2 members | +40% |
3 members | +80% |
4 members | +120% |
5 members | +160% |
6 members | +220% |
Trade Skill XP
Trade Skill XP is used to gain skill levels in various trade skills, including: Alchemist, Armorer, Chef, Enchanter, Maker, and Weaponsmith.
Gathering Skill XP
Gathering Skill XP is for raising your gathering skills, including: Herbalism, Lapidary, Lumberjack, Mining, Skinning, and Scavenging.
General Skill XP
General Skill XP raises your general skills, including: Farming and Trapping.
Stat XP
Stat XP raises your stats. The main way you earn stat XP is by eating food.
XP Debt
XP Debt is a reward for dying in combat! Starting at level 5, if you die in combat you receive a small amount of XP Debt. As long as you have XP Debt, half of all combat XP earned pays off XP debt, and the other half is earned normally. This means you never lose progress and indeed continue making progress (and can even level up) while you have XP Debt.
The amount of XP Debt you receive is a % of the XP needed for your next level, and it scales up slowly until reaching the maximum possible which is 10% per death.
The XP Debt you can possibly have at one time is the amount of XP needed for your next level. If you reach that cap, you will not accrue any further XP Debt no matter how many times you die.
Level | XP Debt |
---|---|
5 | 1.0% |
6 | 1.5% |
7 | 2.0% |
8 | 2.5% |
9 | 3.0% |
10 | 3.5% |
11 | 4.0% |
12 | 4.5% |
13 | 5.0% |
14 | 5.5% |
15 | 6.0% |
16 | 6.5% |
17 | 7.0% |
18 | 8.0% |
19 | 9.0% |
20+ | 10.0% |
Starting at level 11, you will receive 10% of the XP Debt you would have received from dying as a penalty for excessive bravery.
